Text, selected or captured photos, shared items, and audio provided for speech recognition are processed on your device. The translation model is bundled with the app. Offgrid does not send translation content to a developer-operated server or cloud translation service.
Language preferences, settings, and translation history are stored locally. History may include source text, translations, and photos. The share extension uses an App Group belonging to the same developer to pass items you choose to share to the main app. You can delete history entries in the app. Deleting the app removes its local app data. Device backup and restoration may be managed by iOS and your Apple account settings; Apple controls the handling of existing backups.
The camera is used to photograph text; you choose photos through the system picker; the microphone is used for speech input. Speech features may request speech recognition permission. Permissions can be managed in iOS Settings. Text translation works without camera or microphone permission.
Text and photo translation work offline. Speech features use Apple's on-device speech frameworks. Some languages require an initial online download of Apple-managed speech resources. Availability depends on the language and device. App purchases, distribution, resource downloads, backups, and system diagnostics may involve Apple services governed by Apple's privacy policy and your system settings.
No account is required. Offgrid contains no advertisements and integrates no advertising tracking or developer behavioral analytics service.
If you email support, we receive your email address and information you voluntarily provide, solely to handle your request. Avoid sending unnecessary personal information or sensitive translation content. Email providers may process messages under their own policies. We retain support information only as needed to handle the request, unless legally required otherwise. You can request deletion through the contact email above.
